In Montreal, but no nursing program found
These schools have guide pages on this site, but we did not find an entry-level nursing program for them when we checked. Confirm directly with the school before assuming anything.
- Cégep Ahuntsic: No Soins infirmiers DEC in its program list when we checked; lists paramedic care and other health technologies instead.
Licensing in Quebec
In Quebec, registered nurses are licensed by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ). The usual routes are a three-year college DEC in nursing or a university bachelor’s degree (including DEC-BAC), and the OIIQ professional exam applies either way. Practical nurses (infirmières auxiliaires) are a separate profession with their own order, the OIIAQ. Rules can change, so confirm the current requirements with the order.

How to compare these programs
We do not rank schools, and we do not publish tuition, cut-offs, pass rates or seat counts, because they change and are easy to get wrong. Use the school pages for the facts above, then work through this list for each program you are considering:
- Regulator approval. Is the program on the regulator’s own list for the title you want (registered nurse or practical nurse)? Check the regulator’s list, not only the school’s wording.
- Credential and route. Degree, diploma or DEC; direct entry, after-degree, accelerated or bridging. Note the length the school page states.
- Where you study and train. Campus, in person or hybrid, and where placements usually take place.
- Application route and dates. Which application service applies, and the current deadline. They differ by program and change every cycle; some intakes close or pause.
- Language. Language of instruction and of placements, and the language of the licensing exam.
- Selection and prerequisites. Required courses, tests, interviews or lotteries listed on the program page.
- Costs and support. Ask the school for current tuition, fees and placement-related costs, and for what support it offers.
How Fiabita’s Study Lab can help
Study Lab lets you practise quiz questions and flashcards from your own notes and rehearse SBAR handoffs before placements. It is independent of the schools on this page, has none of their course material, and AI output can contain errors, so check it against your course content.
Last checked October 2026. Programs, dates and requirements change, so each school’s official pages are the authority; our school guides link to the sources we used.
