Collège Ahuntsic and nursing: what the Montréal college really offers
What the school offers (nursing)
- Collège Ahuntsic lists its DEC technical programs on its website. When we checked in October 2026, that list included no Soins infirmiers (180.A0) program, so confirm directly with the college before assuming a nursing DEC is available there.
- The health-related DEC programs on that list are Soins préhospitaliers d’urgence (181.A1), Technologie de radiodiagnostic (142.H0), Technologie de l’échographie médicale (142.G0), Technologie de médecine nucléaire (142.F0), Technologie de radio-oncologie (142.D0), Techniques d’électrophysiologie médicale (140.A0) and Archives médicales (411.A0).
- The paramedic-care program (Soins préhospitaliers d’urgence) runs six sessions over three years at the college’s Montréal campus, 9155 rue Saint-Hubert, and is taught in French. The program page describes three internships: a 15-hour observation stage, a 105-hour hospital internship and a 300-hour integration stage in hospital and prehospital settings.
Becoming licensed after graduating
In Québec, nursing is regulated by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) for nurses and the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec (OIIAQ) for licensed practical nurses. For nurses, the OIIQ explains that your school tells the Order when you have completed the program and the Order then sends the registration information for its professional exam; check the current rules on the OIIQ site.
That route applies to nursing programs. For paramedic practice requirements, ask the college directly; we have not verified them here.
How to apply
The program page says applications go through SRAM, the Montréal-area regional admission service for Québec colleges. The college’s admissions contact on that page is mesetudes@collegeahuntsic.qc.ca. If your goal is the nursing DEC, look at the Québec cégep program directory for colleges that list Soins infirmiers, then apply through that college’s admission service.
How Fiabita’s Study Lab can help students here
Study Lab is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Collège Ahuntsic. If you are in a health program here, or preparing for a nursing DEC elsewhere, you can upload your own notes or slides and turn them into quiz questions and flashcards for pharmacology, assessment or documentation. AI-generated content can contain errors, so check it against your course material.
