Robertson College in Winnipeg: the Health Care Aide diploma (not an RN or LPN program)

Canada · Winnipeg, Manitoba · Last checked October 2026

Robertson College is a private career college with a Winnipeg campus. People often search for it while looking for nursing programs, so the first thing to know is that the program we verified there prepares health care aides, not registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.

Fiabita is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by this institution. Current admissions, courses, placements and professional requirements must be verified with the official institution and applicable regulator.

What the school offers (nursing)

Robertson's Health Care Aide (Manitoba curriculum) is a diploma of about six months: 20 instructional weeks plus a six-week practicum, delivered in a hybrid, full-time half-day format at the Winnipeg campus. The college says it prepares graduates for bedside and home-care roles supporting older adults, people with disabilities and people recovering from illness, in hospitals, long-term care, personal care homes and community settings, under job titles such as Health Care Aide, Home Care Attendant or Personal Support Worker.

Robertson also lists a Health Care Aide Bridging program for Manitoba and a Health Care Aide program following the Alberta curriculum. The college's page states that the Manitoba program does not train RNs or LPNs, and that the college is licensed under Manitoba's Private Vocational Institutions Act.

Becoming licensed after graduating

The program page does not describe registration with a nursing regulator for this diploma, and we have not verified a provincial registry for health care aides, so we do not state one. If your goal is to become a licensed practical nurse in Manitoba, you would need a separate practical nursing program, followed by the regulator's registration exam (the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba publishes information on it). For RN routes, see our Manitoba program guide.

How to apply

The page lists entry items including Grade 12 or equivalent (or a mature-student route at 19 or older with an aptitude test), two pieces of provincial ID, criminal record and vulnerable sector checks, Manitoba adult and child abuse registry checks, immunizations, and certifications such as BLS/CPR-C. Confirm the current list and how to apply on Robertson's program page.

How Fiabita's Study Lab can help students here

Fiabita is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with Robertson College. Study Lab can help health care aide students turn their own course notes into quizzes and flashcards, and it supports a PAB/PSW role in the app. It does not replace your instructors or your workplace's training, and AI-generated content can contain errors, so check it against your course material.
