Conestoga College nursing: BScN (Honours), Practical Nursing and RN/RPN registration

Canada · Kitchener, Ontario · Last checked October 2026

Conestoga College is a public college in the Waterloo Region of Ontario. This page summarises the nursing programs its website currently lists, and how graduates register with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

Fiabita is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by this institution. Current admissions, courses, placements and professional requirements must be verified with the official institution and applicable regulator.

What the school offers (nursing)

Conestoga lists a Bachelor of Science – Nursing (Honours): four years, hybrid delivery, Kitchener–Doon campus, with a focus on relational practice. At the time of checking, the page showed a September 2027 start and an accelerated option beginning in fall 2026. It also says Registered Practical Nurses can enter with advanced standing, without bridging semesters, and that the program has preliminary approval from the CNO.

The Practical Nursing program is an Ontario College Diploma of two years, listed at Kitchener–Doon, Waterloo, Milton–Steeles Avenue and Guelph, also with hybrid delivery. Conestoga says it is approved by the CNO, and that graduates can later move into the BScN through advanced standing. The page notes that international applicants must first complete the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway.

Becoming licensed after graduating

In Ontario, nurses register with the CNO. For RN applicants the CNO names the NCLEX-RN as the entry-to-practice exam; for RPN applicants it names the REx-PN. Conestoga says Practical Nursing graduates are eligible to apply for RPN registration, and that BScN graduates are eligible to apply for RN registration (the page refers to the program's preliminary CNO approval, so confirm its current status). Registration itself depends on the CNO's requirements at the time you apply.

How to apply

Ontario college programs are applied to through ontariocolleges.ca. Conestoga describes both programs as highly competitive and, at the time of checking, listed a February 1 deadline for fall and other deadlines for winter and spring intakes in Practical Nursing. Deadlines and intakes change, so rely on the program pages.

How Fiabita's Study Lab can help students here

Fiabita is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with Conestoga College. If you are in the hybrid BScN or Practical Nursing program, Study Lab can turn your own notes and slides into quizzes and flashcards to support independent study between sessions; for RPN-to-RN paths it can also help you revisit pharmacology and assessment. AI-generated content can contain errors, so validate it against your course material.
