Cégep de Trois-Rivières nursing (180.A0 and 180.B0): guide for students
Cégep de Trois-Rivières offers two entries into the Techniques de soins infirmiers program, one of them designed for people who are already auxiliary nurses. Here is what the college publishes, and what comes after graduation.
What the school offers (nursing)
The French-language Techniques de soins infirmiers (180.A0) is a three-year program (six semesters), taught at the Pavillon des Sciences, 3500 rue de Courval, Trois-Rivières.
- Placements begin in the first semester, in settings the college lists as including surgery, mental health, pediatrics, ambulatory care, medicine, perinatal care and long-term care.
- 180.B0 is a version of the program for licensed auxiliary nurses; the college's procedures page indicates it is a fall admission only.
- A DEC-Bac pathway with the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) is described on the college's program page, leading to a university nursing degree.
- The college says preparation for the professional exam starts in the second semester.
Becoming licensed after graduating
Registered nurses in Québec are licensed by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ). The college says graduates go on to the OIIQ professional exam, and its admitted-student checklist includes registering with the OIIQ. Auxiliary nurses belong to the OIIAQ, which matters if you are considering the 180.B0 route. Outside Québec the NCLEX-RN is used, but not for the OIIQ route; confirm with the OIIQ.
How to apply
The college states that it belongs to SRAM (Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain), and that you submit one application for one program at one college. It describes three rounds for fall admission (round 1 closing on March 1). After admission you confirm your courses and pay fees, and the college asks for a vaccination update, a consent form for the HSPnet placement software and a judicial record declaration.
How Fiabita's Study Lab can help students here
With placements from the first semester and exam preparation from the second, regular retrieval practice matters early. Study Lab can build quizzes and flashcards from your own notes on assessment, medication calculations and care planning. If you are coming from the 180.B0 route as an auxiliary nurse, you can focus practice on the topics where you want more depth. Study Lab is independent from the Cégep de Trois-Rivières, and AI-generated content can contain errors, so validate it against your course material.
